Use the features of IBM® Integration Bus Manufacturing Pack, which are compliant with Open Platform Communications (OPC), to integrate your data sources and IBM Integration Bus applications.
OPC is a set of standards that facilitates communication of data between OPC Servers, and IBM Integration Bus applications (OPC clients). Sensors in data sources collect data and send it to an OPC Server. In your OPC client, you specify the data that you want to receive from the OPC Server. The OPC Serversends that data to an OPC client, where you can use that data.
IBM Integration Bus Manufacturing Pack provides an OPC client that receives and processes data from an OPC Classic Server, and an OPC client that receives and processes data from an OPC UA Server.
OPC Classic Servers
OPC Classic Servers process data that conforms to the OPC Data Access (OPC DA) standards for which IBM Integration Bus Manufacturing Pack provides the following nodes:
- OPC-Classic-DARead node
- OPC-Classic-DAWrite node
OPC UA Servers
OPC UA Servers process data that conforms to the OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA) standard for which IBM Integration Bus Manufacturing Pack provides the following nodes:
- OPC-UA-Read node
- OPC-UA-Input node
